ABOUT ME
My dear guests!
I`m glad to greet you in Riga and assist you on the way preparations to the trip here. For it I have prepared a detailed description of the tours I have been doing for about 20 years.
My guests often ask questions during the tour about me and my life and they appreciate very much my tours to be rather personal. So I`ve decided to share shortly some of this information with you now when you are searching for the best way of spending time in Riga & Latvia.
I was born in the U.S.S.R. in a nice town of Rybinsk ….. many years ago:) The name of the place came from the word “riba”, which means “fish”, as the settlement was the major point for catching fish to deliver it to the Tzar`s Court to cook the most delicious meals of it. The town of my childhood is full of stories and historical places and probably they as well as my Mom`s love to history have grown my interests.
I`ve got my first higher education in History and English in a great town of Yaroslavl founded by the Great Count Yaroslav the Wise. And there I was doing my first tours for people coming there to enjoy the beauty and the history of one of the diamonds of the Gold Ring of Russian towns.
Till 1991 Russia and Latvia were republics of the same state, so it was much easier to change location at that time, so when time came I got to Riga. It was a love-story: partly funny, partly sad but still happy; if you are my guests and have interest, I`ll tell you about it:) Four happy years passed quickly and in 1991 borders separated Latvia from Russia. Uneasy time it was and I had to try a lot in my life. By the end of the 90`s I came back to the guide`s job. As by that time I had lived in Riga about 15 year so I had known the town very well and I read and studied a lot of Riga and Latvian history. The more you read the bigger interest comes and I began to share my knowledges.
I like your questions to be answered – prepare many of them as you get ready to tour with me! Sometimes they are puzzling, for example: “Olga, is that right that Jules Verne wrote about Parliament of Lifland in his book Drama of Lifland?” I didn`t know the answer and on the same evening after that tour I found ad read the exciting book of the great writer. So thank you for your questions, they help me to grow!
Soon the time brought me to the idea to arrange my travel agency so now I have also experience in a broader list of services: hotels & accommodation, transportation, meeting in ports, catering, entertainments etc.
Guidance is not my only interest. I`m fond of music and nature, business and psychology, travels and meeting people. I have also several new ideas to fulfil in my life and business.

My tours are often booked by my partners and guests 1 – 1.5 years in advance. It is important especially for those who are on a shore-trip and depend very much on the time of arrival & departure. Please care of your tour arrangements as much in advance as possible!
From my experience of having tours booked with different partners please contact me first before booking about my availability on the day of your tour to be sure.
If you are a cruise-ship traveller please contact me to precise the port of docking. For the ports in suburbs of Riga you have to take a shuttle bus or you can book me for transferring you to the centre. In this case we are able to start the tour even at the transfer time in order not to waste time.
